Parade night on Monday 5th December saw the cadets wearing their DPM’s. At the start of evening parade a number of awards were handed out that were left over from the weekends Final Parade, including the new Warrant Officers cane, the Top Shot and NCO’s award to Cdt Drummond, the “Stirrers” award to FLTLT R Will and a unit crest to recognise SQNLDR Te Tau’s many, many, many, many years of service – let’s just say he knew the Wright Brother’s personnally! SQNLDR Te Tau leaves 41 Sqn at the end of the year to join the Levin Sea Cadet unit.
The cadets DPM dress allowed for a good general spruce up of the unit for the end of the year. This was then followed by Operation H2O which somehow involved some sort of quiz combined with water balloons! The evening culminated in the cadets marching merrily into the sea beside TS Taupo – of course this was only for those who
A) wanted to and
B) had brought along a spare set of clothes!
