Tonight, cadets from 41 Squadron (City of Porirua) Air Cadet Unit supported the Mayor of Porirua Anita Baker, Council Kaumatua Taku Parai, and council dignitaries, to welcome 25 new families as they became citizens of New Zealand.![]()

There are several Citizenship ceremonies held each year and this was the first for 2024.![]()

Cadets march the official party on, then remain as an honour guard either side of the stage, while other cadet assist with the distribution of native trees, given as a gift to all the new citizens from the council.
