Corporal Benjamin Eagle reports on his attendance at the recent NZCF Outdoor Leaders Course:
For 10 days in the middle of the summer school holidays CPL Eagle and CPL Cane travelled down to RNZAF Camp Dipflat, in the Nelson Lakes National Park, to attend the NZ Cadet Forces Bushcraft course.
The syllabus covered everything from river crossings to food hygiene, and included five days in the feild, tramping up the Wairau Valley. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t cooperative, and with ice on our tents and snow in the hills we were forced to turn back to camp early, but it was still a great course and everyone had a great time.
