On Saturday 14th April Flight Sergeant Brown, Corporal Asbery, Leading Air Cadet Haenga-Sutton, Cadet Bassus and Cadet Shannon rendezvoused with Pilot Officer Asbery and a contingent of cadets from both the Army and Sea cadets to distribute poppies and collect for the 2012 Poppy Day Appeal at the Farmer’s Market in Cobham Court in Porirua.
The market was busy and the weather almost perfect, being dry and cool but not cold. With all entrances and exits covered, and a few roving teams around the market the majority of patrons could be seen sporting poppies by the end of the 2 hour appeal.
Thanks go to all those who supported on the day, and a different group of cadets will attend again on Saturday 21st April just in case we missed anyone with our initial effort!
