This “end the year on a high” and “big blow out” event is shrouded in secrecy, so I can’t give too much away, suffice to say it is a team based weekend of fun and competition – I may have said too much already!

This year 4 teams contested the prize – the honour of 1st place – they were:-

Unfortunately the weather gods were not kind on Friday evening as the attendees assembled at home base, with some tents turning into mini swimming pools some juggling of accommodation for the night was required.  Luckily Saturday was a complete change, with blues skies and warm but not overly humid or oppressive heat – perfect!

After 2 days of fierce, fun and close competition (and once the camp had been broken down for the trip home) Team Marines were announced as the winners for 2012 – well done!

Now lets all have a well earned rest ready for 2013 – Merry Xmas everyone!

Special thanks go to the Waiterere Forest ranger and management for continuing to support and host Ex Kiwi, the weekends chef’s who kept the hordes fed and watered, all the parents who helped ship the cadets to and/or from the event and Origin Electrical for providing both electricity (generator) and lighting for the event for the first time!
