Flight Sergeant Kendall Brown recently attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Wellington Cathedral.
“I was part of the Colour Party for the Merchant Navy flag. Other Cadets from the Air Training Corps, Sea Cadet Corps and Cadet Corps also attended as well as plenty of soldiers, sailors and airmen from the Defence Force.
It was a very sombre experience with thoughts of the recent fallen NZ soldiers in Afghanistan at the forefront of everyone’s minds during the ceremony.
It was a privilege to attend this moving ceremony to remember our fallen.
There were lots of diplomats, politicians and senior defence force personnel in attendance and it was good to catch up with the Chief of the Air Force afterwards.
I would recommend that if anyone gets the opportunity to attend ceremonies like this that they make every effort to do so.”
