Cadet Kiera Brodie reports on the Flying Day held at Helipro Paraparaumu on 10th November 2012.
“On the 10th November I was invited to participate in a flying lesson with the pilots of Helipro.
It was a lovely day and I was very excited as I first entered the plane. I had previously been given a briefing of what to expect during the flight, so I thought I had a fair idea of what was going to happen. But when we had taken off, it was such an unexpected experience.
The pilot showed me how to manoeuvre the plane, and I took the controls for quite a while.
The pilot also showed me how to experience the G-forces; by tilting the plane into a nose-dive!
It was such a rush and I will definitely do it again, as I thoroughly enjoyed the flight and experience.”
